Plantation Shutter Warranty

The Best Shutters and Blinds warrants our shutters to the original purchaser as follows.
  1. The material and workmanship is free from manufacture’s defects for the lifetime of the product.
  2. The shutter unit is manufactured to customer specifications at time of order.
  3. Shutters ordered as outside mount will be made to order size. Shutters ordered as inside mount will be 1/8” smaller in width and height. The finished measurement may vary +/- 1/16” for the shutter unit.
  4. Our warranty covers the finish for a period of seven years from date of purchase. This does not cover any finish affected by exposure to outside elements, abuse, misuse or any chemical or liquids applied for cleaning.

Measurements and Production

Our manufacturing process is set up to eliminate almost all improper unit sizing errors. The last process in manufacturing is to frame the unit and our employees work off the measurements provided by the customer. In almost all cases any error in finish size will be noticed and corrected at this point. If you receive a shutter unit that falls outside our size tolerance that creates an installation problem we will work with you to correct it. Shutters ordered as outside mount will be made to order size. Shutters ordered as inside mount will be 1/8” smaller in width and height. The finished measurement may vary +/- 1/16” for the shutter unit.

Items Not Covered

The following items are not covered under our warranty but we will work with you to resolve them in the most cost effective manner.
  1. Customer measurement errors or misunderstanding of measure and installation instructions.
  2. Installation of product or damage to any mounting surface or window unit is attached to or near.
  3. Any circumstance outside normal use including but not limited to accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, misapplication, exposure to the elements, fire, flood, improper maintenance, failure to follow use, care, or installation instructions, shipping, or acts of God.

Standard Colors and Custom Matches

We offer 12 standard colors at no additional cost. You may request a sample kit from customer service. Colors may vary slightly from sample kit do to the nature of paint tinting and variation from batch to batch. Custom match may also have a slight variation. You may request a sample of the actual paint that will be used for your order for an additional $25.00. This is offered for both standard and custom colors. Do to the nature of wood; our stained shutters will have a wider variance on the color spectrum.

Warranty Claim

All warranty claims related to sizing or initial defects must be brought to our attention within 10 days of receipt. All returns must have an authorization number prior to shipping back to The Best Shutters and Blinds. Customer is responsible for packaging shutter unit so no damage or additional damage occurs during shipping. We may request that a digital image be emailed prior to packaging.

Warranty Repairs and Remakes

The Best Shutters and Blinds reserves the right to repair or replace any product at our discretion. We will make the effort to expedite repairs and remakes with a high priority. All returns must have an authorization number prior to shipping back to The Best Shutters and Blinds. Customer is responsible for packaging shutter unit so no damage or additional damage occurs during shipping. All packaging is paid for by the customer. We will pay for shipping on all warranty issues related to sizing or initial defects brought to our attention within 10 days of receipt. Customer pays for shipping both ways on any other warranty work.

Freight Damage or Missing Items

It is your responsibility to inspect package at time of delivery for damage and shortage. If you receive a damage package and it is obvious the contents is also damage refuse it. If there is minor damage or a shortage and you decide to accept delivery have the driver note the problem on your copy of the freight bill and sign it. You will be responsible for filling claims on any packages you accept at time of delivery. Should this occur we will be happy to assist you through this process.

Other Terms

All shutter are custom made and cannot be cancelled or returned for credit. These are custom built for each customer are unable to be resold.

Wood is a natural product and may have characteristic difference in the grain pattern and stain effect. This is considered an enhancement of the beauty of natural wood and is not a material defect. This warranty does not cover defects caused by improper installation, improper alterations, abuse, misuse, or exposure to outside elements.

NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ARE MADE. We shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
